Glenn R. Maidment, CAE
Glenn Maidment is a 45-year veteran of the rubber industry, having started his career in Kitchener Ontario, working for a major tire manufacturer. Following progressively senior positions in Sales and Marketing, Glenn joined the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada, (formerly The Rubber Association of Canada) as Director of Operations in 1991.
In July 2001 Mr. Maidment was appointed President. In his current role he manages the overall affairs of the association, acts as the industry’s chief spokesman, and develops and implements the strategic direction in concert with the Association’s Board of Directors.
He is also currently a Director of three provincial tire stewardship agencies in Canada, and on the Management Board of the Canadian Association of Tire Recycling Agencies (CATRA). In addition, he works with both Federal and Provincial governments on all matters facing the industry in Canada.
Mr. Maidment graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in Economics and in 1994 earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives.
The Tire and Rubber Association of Canada, founded in 1920, is the national trade association representing the interests of tire and rubber manufacturers operating in Canada.
